Terms of Service

1. Description of the Service

The Google Health Integration ("the Service") allows you to connect your Google account to your Heartland Racing Co. account so that fitness activities recorded through Google Fit or compatible Google Health apps are automatically imported into the active Monthly Challenge. Once connected, the Service periodically checks for new activities and imports them as challenge entries, awarding points based on the activity type and duration or distance.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By connecting your Google account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and that the Google account you connect is your own. The Service is currently in private beta and may be restricted to invited users.

3. Your Responsibilities

As a user of this Service, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information when creating and maintaining your HRC account.
• Connect only your own Google account. You may not connect another person's Google account, even with their permission.
• Use the Service only for personal, non-commercial fitness tracking and challenge participation.
• Not attempt to manipulate, reverse-engineer, or abuse the auto-sync feature to gain unfair challenge points.
• Keep your Google account credentials secure. We are not responsible for unauthorized access to your Google account.
• Promptly disconnect the Service if you no longer wish to participate or if your Google account is compromised.

4. Data Accuracy and Activity Import

We import activity data as provided by the Google Health API. We do not independently verify the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of activities recorded in your Google account. Points are calculated automatically based on activity type and measured values (distance or duration). We reserve the right to investigate and remove activities that appear to be erroneous, duplicated, or submitted in bad faith. We also reserve the right to adjust point calculations if an error in our import logic is discovered.

5. Single-Service Constraint

Only one activity-tracking integration (STRAVA or Google Health) may be active at a time. Connecting Google Health will automatically disconnect any existing STRAVA connection, and vice versa. This is by design to prevent duplicate activity imports. By connecting Google Health, you acknowledge and accept this behavior.

6. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available and functional but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, Google API changes, or factors beyond our control. We are not liable for any challenge points not awarded during periods of downtime or sync failure. If you notice activities are not importing, you may log them manually through the challenge interface.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heartland Racing Co. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but limited to loss of challenge points, missed rewards, or inaccurate activity data. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service, which is typically zero as the Service is provided free of charge.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, reliable, or available at all times. The Service is a convenience feature for challenge participation and is not a medical or health monitoring tool. You should not rely on imported activity data for medical, health, or safety decisions.

9. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may update the supported activity types, point calculations, or sync frequency as the platform evolves. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify connected users.

10. Account Termination and Disconnection

You may disconnect Google Health at any time from your profile page. Disconnection immediately revokes our access tokens and stops all future activity imports. We may also terminate or restrict your access to the Service if we believe you have violated these Terms, abused the platform, or if required by Google's API policies. Upon termination, previously imported activities remain as part of your challenge history unless you request their deletion.

11. Google API Compliance

This Service uses Google APIs and adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to Google's API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. If Google terminates or suspends our API access, the Service may stop functioning without prior notice.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in Missouri.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
